Ed's Sister Rushed to Hospital Last Night

Dorothy Whitehurst, Bethel, was taken to the Emergency Department at Pitt County Memorial Hospital late last night due to severe stomach pain. Doctors have discovered a large hernia and are planning to perform surgery this morning. I am not sure what time the surgery will be but she is resting well right now. Please keep Dorothy and her family in your prayers. ________________________________________________________________________

April & Kevin Visit the Mountains for their Anniversary

"Kevin and I had a great time celebrating our 8th anniversary in the mountains. We stayed in a cabin in the Galax, VA area, which is right around the NC/VA state line. Pictures do not do justice to the beautiful leaf color there this time of year. We hiked on trails that were full of gorgeous color and visted Shelton Vineyard, with an impressive winery, in the Yadkin Valley. It is a great area to visit along the Blue Ridge Parkway and is about a 5 hour drive from Greenville. Nonetheless, we are happy to be back at home with our little girls! "

Robin & Mindy Visit Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico

"Robert and I went to Albuquerque to visit with my brother and to experience the balloon fiesta. The early morning "mass ascensions" are incredible. The balloons look like Christmas tree ornaments in the sky! The "special shapes" balloons include a pair of huge bumblebees, a large dairy cow, humpty dumpty and new this year, Darth Vader. The weather was perfect and we went sightseeing in Albuquerque and took a day trip to Santa Fe. Now, it is back in the saddle."

NASCAR Race at Charlotte - October 2007

Ed Jr, Wendy, Ed Sr and I left for Charlotte (Concord) last Wednesday to attend the NASCAR race at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. We had a great time and met some new friends. Wish you all could have joined us. The weather, campsite, people and the races were great (except Jeff Gordan won on Saturday Night!!!!).

A Little "Lee" Princess

Earl and Ann Lee are friends of mine from Burroughs Wellcome days. I worked with Earl for many years and Ann taught school in Pitt County. They now live in Orlando, Florida. I recently got this email and wanted to share:

"We are back from our 50th anniversary cruise. There were 21 of us in our group. Went to Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, Mexico. Really had a nice time. Still nothing like family and old friends.

Wanted to share this photo. This is my youngest grand---my baby daughter's. Had four of my five on the trip.

This kid would be the sweetest even if she wasn't my grand. The really great thing is she seems to be getting her smarts from the Lee side too. LOL"

A Blast From the Past-Ashley is My Great, Great Niece

This is Ashley, my great, great niece. Her mother is my great niece Windie Kehn. Her grandmother recently passed away and was my niece Terry James. For those of you who may know Robin, Sharon, Chris and Carolyn-Terry was their sister. Ashley is Bob Jr.'s great granddaughter. Windie, Ashley's mom, recently had a birthday & we won't mention which one. LOL

"Ok now this was the best birthday present yet, Ashley had sprit week at school this week and today is 80's day, and she begged me to give her 80's hair.......LOL...........Gave her the BIG BOY HAIR (for those that wonder what big boy hair is, its a resturant in MI and their logo is a guy with big hair)(its a 80's saying).......LOL............anyways I totally had to share the laugh..............with those that remember the 80's like I do.............Lots of love Windie
